Hi, my name is Hannah.
I became a birth doula because I am in awe of the strength and wisdom of women.
It is an honor to help you tune into, and learn to trust, the wisdom of your body, and to support your family as they learn how to support you.
I help you find your breath when things get big. I remind your partner how to hold you. I help create a quiet, womb-like space—dim lights, soft sounds, warm water, and anything else that helps you feel safe, grounded, and undisturbed. I attend home births, birth centers, and hospital births. Wherever you feel safe is the right place to have your baby. My job is to help regulate the space, so that you can surrender. I offer peace of mind, solid education, and steady presence so you can meet this experience with courage.
My care is personalized and client-led. I follow your rhythm. My approach is grounded in the belief that you already have everything you need within you to safely and instinctively bring your babies into the world. Whether this is your first baby or your sixth, your birth matters. Each one is a new journey, a new chance to grow and expand and meet yourself in a whole new way.

I named my business Rising Mama Doula because I believe pregnancy, birth, and the transition into motherhood are profound rites of passage.
They call us to rise—into new strength, deeper self-trust, and a more grounded sense of who we are. With loving support and a mindset rooted in curiosity and self-compassion, and trust, this journey becomes not just about giving birth, but about becoming. Rising Mama reflects the growth, expansion, and transformation that happens when a woman steps into her power and meets herself with courage, tenderness, and intention.
It all began with Rachel's birth story.
I first heard the word “doula” while my friend was planning for the homebirth of her second child in the winter of 2022. The work of a doula called to me as I learned more and more about it. I completed my DONA Certified Birth Doula Training through Sierra Doula Academy in March of 2023. My friend’s daughter was born shortly thereafter.
The first birth I attended was that of my dear friend Rachel’s daughter. It was her second brith, and she had chose to welcome her baby at home, surrounded by the warmth of her family and midwives. On a cold March evening, she labored on a soft pad in front of the fireplace, her husband close by. While the midwives gently monitored her progress, I put her son to bed, honoring the quiet rhythm of their family’s unfolding journey.

After her son was asleep, I witnessed Rachel move into active labor with a powerful blend of grace and grit. I sat nearby, holding space – croching a baby blanket for the sweet girl soon to arrive – and documenting the sacred unfolding of life. Just before midnight, her daughter was born - at home, in front of the fire, surrounded by love and steady support.
In the hours that followed, I supported Rachel through the delivery of her placenta, gently cleaned her birthing space, and helped her settle into bed. I stayed with her while the contractions and bleeding continued, ensuring she was never alone during those early, intense postpartum hours.

I remained by her side for the next two days, providing full-spectrum postpartum care – preparing nourishing meals, tending to laundry, picking up groceries and herbal tinctures, and caring for her toddler so that Rachel, her husband, and their newborn could rest and bond in peace. I also helped Rachel physically recover durign those vital 48 hours: supporting her in and out of the shower, making sure she stayed hydrated and well-fed, and helping her care for her body so she could focus on her baby and herself with ease.
This birth taught me the quiet strength of presence, the sacredness of home birth, and the honor of holding space for families as they transition through one of life’s most powerful thresholds.
